Eating At This Time Will Help You Lose Weight
Science confirms: eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.
Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? A new study conducted by Loma Linda University Adventist Health Sciences Center reveals that eating your meals at certain times in the day can help kickstart your weight loss more effectively.
By gathering info on over 50,000 participants from an Adventist health study, researchers were able to pinpoint four factors linked to lower BMI: ”eating only one or two meals per day, maintaining an overnight fast of up to 18 hours; eating breakfast instead of skipping it; and making breakfast or lunch the largest meal of the day,” where eating a big breakfast versus a large lunch resulted in a more significant decrease in weight.
Given these intermittent fasting-type strategies may be challenging for many, Hana Kahleova, MD, PhD, recommends eating breakfast and lunch rather than dinner and steering clear from snacks. And it turns out that the two factors linked to higher BMI were eating more than three times a day (with snacks being considered as meals) as well as making dinner the largest meal… So she’s definitely on to something.
